There was a point somewhere in the middle of the half marathon on Sunday that I was obviously suffering so much that my dad looked at me and asked "And when do you wanna do this again?" .. without hesitation I yelled back "Never!"
.. But then we crossed the finish line and got our medals and saw our family and friends. Then for the next 2 to 3 days I walked around with the proud gimp of a runner. And suddenly, the pain didn't seem so bad anymore. I quickly forgot about the misery I experienced during the races and all the aches accompanying it..
So.. I signed up for another half marathon..
.. Oh yeah, and it's in 2 weeks.. My dad and I signed up to run the Lake Health Distance Classic in Concord, Ohio on June 5. I'm kind of nervous because I hear it's a really hilly course. That and the fact that my shin splints are back..
I went to the Y today to attempt a treadmill hill workout (courtesy of Katie and Scott), but as soon as I tried to run my shin was screaming at me! I realized the run wasn't happening so I did a hill climb on the recumbent bike for 4 miles instead.
I also plan on doing the Towpath 10 Miler on June 19, which is just 2 weeks after the Distance Classic. So many races, so little time =)
I'm running the Concord 1/2 too! The route is along my regular running route (I live 1.5 miles from the bike path), and I don't mind the hills. And trust me, I SUCK at hills!
