I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
My family's Christmas this year was not our traditional celebration. My mother, my father and myself were all sick. All of our typical festivities (including opening gifts) occur on Christmas Eve ever since my brother got married and they now spend Christmas day with my sister-in-law's family.
Usually on Christmas, my brother and sister-in-law come over, and my mom makes us a wonderful dinner. We go to Christmas Eve mass at 7:00, after we go to our family friend's house for dessert and exchanging presents, then back to my parents to exchange family gifts.
Instead, this year, I spent 2 days on the couch sleeping, woke up for a bit for dinner and we opened presents, sadly, at 8:00 so Brother and sister-in-law could still see our family friends. Oh well, I still got to enjoy time with my family and celebrate the true essence of the season =)
Getting an iPad didn't hurt either.
I'm one of those people that loves to give presents more than I enjoy receiving them, and I was super excited to give my dad his present this year. I ordered it from the Allied Steel website in October and had been itching to give it to him for months! What was the gift, you ask? The perfect gift for any decorated runner!
He absolutely loved it! It's currently hanging in his office at work =)
I slowly started feeling better and went to the Y on Monday for a quick bike and some strength training. It felt good to get back into the swing of things but I still felt pretty sick.
Yesterday, I did my first real run since about a week before I left for the Bahamas! It was only 2 miles but it felt great. I have a fickle body and don't want to jump into running too far too soon after my little hiatus. Either way, I'm back and marathon training has officially started! I also got a foam roller for Christmas, which has become a new part of my daily routine.
From my iPad to you =)
(Sorry about the glare)
