Oh, how I love Christmas time =)
My parents were kind enough to wait for my return from the Bahamas to go get their Christmas tree, so we went on Sunday. Every year we go to Pioneer Trials Tree Farm and cut down the perfect Weigel family Christmas tree. My mother didn't come along this year. Brother wanted to come originally then called and canceled. I had to guilt him into coming with the good old "you haven't seen me in 10 days, you have to come!" routine, and the classic "I'll have mom tivo the Browns game for you, promise.."
He was happy once we got him there, though.
Blogosphere, meet brother!
We got our sled and our saw and hopped on a tractor that takes you back into the farm. Usually we ride in the cart that the horses pull but it was too late in the season and only the tractors were running that day. We got off at the Canaan Firs and walked around until we found the perfect tree.
Dad was marking potential trees with an "X" in the snow. One year we put random clothing on the trees we liked, like a glove or a hat, but then we couldn't always find them again, so we switched systems. It didn't take us very long to find our tree =)
Like the spot of Caladryl on my face? I thought I had a spot of poison wood. Just a bug bite, false alarm.
The treeeee =)
Brother, myself and dad =)
Brother ran over a cone in the parking lot. Just thought it was funny =)
Getting the tree ready to decorate. Presley is always very helpful..
Finished product!
I can't believe Christmas Eve is the day after tomorrow already! I'm not finished shopping, yet. I finished shopping for everyone but Brother before I left for the Bahamas.. He's so hard to shop for!
What are some traditions that your family does for the holidays?
